However, Liverpool will be crowned champions of England for a record-equalling 20th time with a win against Tottenham Hotspur on April 27, even if Arsenal can conjure a win against Crystal Palace in midweek.

Despite trying to avoid the question regarding his future, Liverpool’s deputy captain would rather concentrate on the moment – his wild celebration with the fans that put the entire Anfield Stadium into a frenzy.

Alexander-Arnold sang praise of the outstanding travelling fans who have stuck with them throughout the campaign.

“The away fans are always amazing. The fans have been outstanding again this season. They have pushed us every every game until the final minutes, and they’ve done that again today.

“They’ve helped us win the game, and you can still hear them now while they’re celebrating.

“But these days, like today, are always special: scoring goals, playing, winning games, being close to winning titles, as well as being in title races, they are special moments that will live with me forever.

“I’m glad to be a part of them.”

The defender remains on the radar of the Spanish giants, Madrid, as the reigning champions look to bolster their defense with the versatile defender in the summer.
