Unai Emery has revealed what the priorities are for the remainder of Aston Villa’s season, explaining that a good Premier League finish stands tall over fighting in any other competition.

Emery’s side fell short to Paris Saint Germain in midweek in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash in a 3-1 result that has handed them a mountain to climb in the second-leg next week.

Speaking to the press ahead of Villa’s Premier League weekend fixture against Southampton, Emery explained what the priority for the remainder of the season is, stating that a top-five finish is what his team is after.

“We are very focused in Champions League and FA Cup.. but we have to prioritize the Premier League. You play in the Champions League and now England, we have five slots. We are focused on the Champions League and FA Cup, but the Premier League remains the priority”, he said.

Villa sit in seventh place on the Premier League standings, only two points off the top four places, and Emery’s team now have a clear goal ahead of them for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
