Romano posted on X: “Viktor Gyökeres has just signed his contract as new Arsenal player!
“All sealed after medical tests done today, official statement to follow next… …and number 1️⃣4️⃣, confirmed.”
The 27-year-old, who was on strike in order to push through the transfer, reportedly turned down a summer move to Manchester United.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Gyokeres revealed that he would love to play in the Premier League, after years of playing in England without tasting the top tier.

He said: “Maybe. That’s football, you never know. I don’t think about it; we’ll see what happens. If something happens, it will. The most important thing for me is to play for a club that really wants me.”

Gyokeres added: “I only think about scoring and winning. It changes everything. I spent several years there [Premier League] without being able to play a single match.
“So, of course, it’s something I’d like to do. It would be great revenge!”
The Sweden forward was in sensational form last season, and his prolific goal-scoring exploits have not gone unnoticed.
Gyokeres has netted 97 goals in 102 matches during two seasons in Portugal.
He spent three seasons with Championship side Coventry City before joining Sporting under Ruben Amorim.
