When can Liverpool win the Premier League title after Arsenal’s draw against Man United?

Liverpool are currently 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, and Arne Slot’s side are edging closer to their 20th league title.

The gap between Liverpool and the rest of the league widened this weekend, with the Reds securing a 3-1 victory over Southampton, while Arsenal dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

With just nine games remaining, no team has ever failed to win the Premier League with such a commanding lead at this stage of the season.

For Arsenal to catch Liverpool, the Gunners will need to win all of their remaining 10 matches, and hopefully, Liverpool will drop points equivalent to five losses.

The two teams will also meet at Anfield on May 10, but by that point, the title could already be wrapped up.

When Can Liverpool Be Confirmed as Champions?

Liverpool can be confirmed as champions as early as April 12, provided they win their next two games against Everton and Fulham, and Arsenal lose to Chelsea, Fulham, and Everton, while also dropping points against Brentford.

If Arsenal lose their game in hand against Chelsea but match Liverpool’s results thereafter, Slot’s side could secure the title with four matches to spare, when they host Tottenham on April 27.

If Arsenal win their game in hand and match Liverpool’s results, the Reds could claim the title during the weekend of May 3-4 when they face Chelsea.

In another scenario, Liverpool could be confirmed as champions with a win over Arsenal, moving them at least seven points clear with two games to go.

However, the trophy will not be presented until after Liverpool’s final home game against Crystal Palace on May 25.

Fans Set for Historic Title Celebration

This would mark the first time since 1990 that Liverpool fans can watch the team lift the title in person, after their most recent victory in 2020 was celebrated behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions.
