Erik ten Hag won the EFL Cup and FA Cup with Manchester United between 2023 and 2024
Wolves linked with former Man United manager Erik ten Hag

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly linked with a potential transfer for the former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for the vacant role at the Molineux following the sacking of Vitor Pereira.
Although reports indicate that the Dutch tactician has been contacted to potentially replace Pereira in the dugout for the relegation-battling Premier League side, it also affirms that Ten Hag is not in pole position for the role.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Wolves are currently prioritising former boss Gary O’Neil, who could return to the club less than a year after he was sacked.

Further reports suggest that negotiations with the 42-year-old are progressing alongside other candidates, though a hasty decision is unlikely.
Meanwhile, James Collins and Richard Walker, who head up the U21s and U18s respectively, will continue as interim managers and are likely to be in charge when Wolves travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the Premier League next weekend.
Until then, a two-week international break will provide “The Wanderers” an opportunity to unveil their new manager.
No decision has been made yet, but O’Neil appears to be in pole position; Ten Hag is also a strong candidate for the role.

The former Man United, Bayer Leverkusen, and Ajax boss had an excellent record in both the FA Cup and EFL Cup, winning 17 of his 21 matches across both competitions and winning both trophies.
O’Neil was appointed Wolves head coach in August 2023 and led the club to a 14th-placed finish and the FA Cup quarter-finals in his first season.
The English manager was sacked in December 2024 following a poor start to his second season and was replaced by Pereira.
Wolves, rock-bottom in the Premier League, are hunting the ideal manager to replace Pereira and end their 10-match winless streak in the top flight.
