Romelu Lukaku hit an incredible milestone of 400 goals for both club and country combined as Napoli beat AC Milan 2-1 on Sunday to keep their title push alive.

Lukaku wrote his name further into football history books after reaching a milestone of 400 career goals as Napoli secured a vital win over Milan.

The 31-year-old Belgian striker found the back of the net in the 19th minute, doubling his side’s advantage and marking a significant personal achievement.

Lukaku’s career statistics highlight his prolific goal-scoring ability across multiple clubs over the years.

With his latest strike, the former Chelsea and Manchester United striker took his total goals in club football to 312, while also netting 88 times for Belgium in the process.

His journey has been one that has seen him score for several top European clubs, including 78 goals for Inter Milan, 42 goals for Manchester United, 87 goals for Everton, 21 goals for Roma, 15 goals for Chelsea, 17 goals for West Bromwich Albion, and 41 goals for Anderlecht.

Lukaku has been a big influence at Napoli this season, where he has played 30 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists, proving to be an important figure in their attacking setup.

Speaking to reporters after reaching his 400th goal, Lukaku expressed both pride and determination, saying,

“400 goals is a lot, today’s win was very important. We prepared for the match in one way, but this morning, the coach changed the plans.

“We suffered a little too much in the second half, but we got the win, and that’s good. Ours was a good response, we have to fight until the end.”

Napoli’s triumph over Milan has helped them maintain momentum at the top in the Serie A title race.

That important victory keeps them within three points of league leaders Inter Milan.

Their next challenge is against Bologna on April 7, where they will aim to keep pace with the top of the table.

With Lukaku consistently scoring, Napoli’s hopes of challenging for silverware remain very much alive.
