Kotoko drop points in 1-1 draw with Bechem United

The Porcupines dropped points at the Baba Yara Stadium for the first time this season

Asante Kotoko’s title aspirations took a hit as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium in matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League.

Despite dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities, Kotoko failed to capitalize on their chances, ultimately settling for a draw.

Joseph Darlvin gave Bechem the lead, but Asante Kotoko equalized through Albert Amoah’s well-taken penalty.

The draw means Kotoko remain top of the league table with 47 points, but they are level on points with Bibiani Goldstars, who won their match against Young Apostles. Kotoko’s superior goal difference keeps them ahead of their title rivals.

Kotoko’s inability to convert their chances into goals was a major talking point in the match. They missed numerous opportunities to score, with their players failing to capitalize on Bechem United’s defensive lapses.

Despite their dominance, Kotoko’s finishing proved to be a major concern, and it could ultimately cost them in their bid for the league title.

Bechem United, on the other hand, showed great resilience and determination to earn a point against the league leaders. They defended solidly and caught Kotoko on the counter-attack to score the opener . The point earned by Bechem United could prove to be crucial in their bid to for top four.
