Former Barcelona youth coach Garcia Pimienta has finally opened up on his recent sack from the managerial role at Sevilla after a disappointing run of games this year.

Pimienta joined Sevilla after his time at Las Palmas where he proved to be a force to reckon with against the top sides in La Liga.

Nonetheless, his recent performances and results with the Sevilla team were far from convincing and it is one that left management to part ways with him permanently.

Speaking about what the journey was like and how he feels now, Garcia Pimienta expressed gratitude to the fans and club in general, wishing them the very best in the future.

“The team, believe me, is very much alive, and I’m convinced that the end of the season will be fantastic; I still have no doubt about it,” Pimienta said in his statement.

“I want to thank Sevilla FC for their trust in me and my staff. Being able to work with all the material and human resources of this great club has been a true privilege for us.”

“Thanks to each and every person who, in every area, works for the club and who has shared with us, side by side, the joys and difficulties of these past few months. They are top-notch professionals.”

“And finally, a huge thank you to the fans, because in turbulent times they’ve always been there, tirelessly supporting the team and encouraging us to improve in every game. Having felt the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán as our own will forever be etched in our memories. It was an honor,” the Spanish coach said.

Now, the club have hired Joaquin Caparros as its new manager, and the 60-year-old will be making his return to the Spanish side for the fourth time after three previous stints at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuán.
