I want Flick here as long as possible- Laporta
Laporta confirms Flick contract renewal after Copa final win

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that the club will renew the current contract of Hansi Flick after an impressive season from the German.
This campaign, Flick has already led FC Barcelona to two titles and is on course to winning a possible quadruple as his team sits top of the standings in La Liga and has a crunch UEFA Champions League semi-final coming up against Inter Milan.
On Saturday night, the German tactician led Barcelona to their second title over bitter rivals Real Madrid this season in the Copa del Rey, and it appears Laporta is wasting no time in securing the future and direction of the new Barca generation.
Speaking to the club’s media about the future of Flick, Laporta made it clear he’s got his eyes firmly fixed on making the renewal happen as the German’s contract expires next year.
“We surely want him to renew. Everyone at the club probably knows this. Flick knows that we want this phase to last as long as possible. Hansi prefers short-term contracts, renewing year by year, and that’s evident from his current contract. But we will see. I’m sure an agreement will be reached soon.”
Hansi Flick has proved that Laporta’s decision to replace Xavi with him was the best for Barcelona, who look unstoppable this season across all competitions.
Flick’s future at the club will be a huge determinant for the amount of success the club enjoys in the coming years.
