Renato Veiga, who joined Chelsea in July 2024 from Swiss club FC Basel for €14 million, has attracted considerable attention after an impressive loan spell at Juventus. Primarily a centre-back but also capable of playing left-back and defensive midfield, Veiga has demonstrated his adaptability and potential across multiple top European leagues.
Despite his versatility, Veiga’s preferred position is centre-back, a role he has excelled in during his time at Juventus. However, his future at Chelsea appears uncertain, as the club is reportedly open to selling him permanently this summer. Several clubs across Europe have expressed interest in acquiring the Portuguese international, who made 18 appearances for Chelsea before his loan move.

Bayern’s interest in Veiga is part of a broader strategy to reinforce their defensive line, especially if Kim Min-Jae completes a transfer away from the club. The timing of Veiga’s potential move will depend on how quickly Bayern can finalize negotiations and whether Chelsea are willing to part ways with the young defender.
