Man City found guilty on all 115 Premier League charges

Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of all but one of Premier League’s 115 Financial Fair Play breaches, following five years of thorough investigation by an independent body.

However, the Manchester club has not been officially served with any sanctions as of today, 25 September 2026, as the news made its way into the media.

As it is the common practice, City are expected to appeal any verdict that seeks to either strip them of their titles won, point deduction or financial penalty, or even relegation from the English top flight.

The reported financial irregularities, which prompted the league’s independent investigation span between 2009 and 2018.

Investigation into this matter have taken years to arrive. Premier League clubs have received an update on the case, since they are all stakeholders, and are keen to understand the final verdict from the much-awaited investigations by the independent panel.

It will be in the best interest of all parties involved, including the EPL, to see this matter reach a satisfactory conclusion, following the information received on Thursday. Punishment can also be imposed while an appeal is ongoing.

Speaking, following the breaking news, a City spokesman said: ” The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.

“As such, Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023.

” The club have diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”

Prior to the release of the potential sanctions, pending a final verdict, City have always denied any wrong-doing since the investigation started, promising “irrefutable” evidence in lie of their position on the reported breaches.

The Abu Dhabi owned club, had assembled of the most expensive lawyers in the country to argue their case.
