Barcelona appears to have stolen a march on rivals Real Madrid in the race to sign Rodri
Barcelona offer for Man City star Rodri rejected

Barcelona look to have hijacked Real Madrid’s move for Manchester City superstar Rodri, after convincing the midfielder with a “worthy” package and project, while offering a transfer worth in the region of £40 million in a move to lure him to the Camp Nou.
However, The Premier League giants, City have knocked back the initial offer, seeking upwards of £60m for the 30-year-old midfielder, who has only 12 months left on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The offer is considered too low for the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, who is also being seriously considered by Madrid, with new head coach, Jose Mourinho reportedly giving the green light to bring the player to the Spanish Capital.

According to reports from Sky in Italy, City have lined up Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez as the ideal replacement should the Spanish midfielder eventually decided to move to Spain, after several attempts to renew his contract yielded no positive results.
The La Liga champions have still not left the negotiation table after a first attempt. It remains to be seen whether they will return with a higher offer but their interest in signing him remains.
Sources in Spain believe Rodri would prefer a move to Barcelona over Madrid. City are keen to retain the services of Spain’s World Cup-winning captain, and want to agree a new contract with him.
