Alexander-Arnold fires Liverpool to the brink of PL glory as Leicester relegated

Trent Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to score a dramatic late winner, bringing Liverpool within three points of the Premier League title and condemning Leicester City to relegation.
The 26-year-old, who has yet to agree on a new contract amid heavy links to a potential free transfer to Real Madrid this summer, netted with just 14 minutes remaining at the King Power Stadium.
His strike came after Liverpool had been frustrated by a resilient Leicester side battling against relegation.

Alexander-Arnold, marking his return from an ankle injury sustained in early March, found the back of the net with a well-placed angled shot, following near misses from Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
His celebration was a fitting response to the significance of his goal.

The Reds’ vice captain ripped off his shirt and celebrated wildly with the ecstatic Liverpool supporters before draping it over the corner flag in a gesture of pure emotion.

With the win, Arne Slot’s side are now poised to celebrate their title triumph at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday.

However, they could clinch the championship earlier, depending on the outcome of Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Alexander-Arnold’s strike came as a relief after Salah nearly opened the scoring in the opening seconds, only to see his low drive hit both posts.

Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi also struck the woodwork early on in a lively start to the match.
As Liverpool edge closer to their long-awaited title, Leicester’s relegation is now confirmed, marking the end of a disappointing season for the Foxes, who will return to the Championship after just one season back in the Premier League.
