Bayern Munich’s Kim Min Jae sidelined with achilles tendon injury

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has revealed that centre-back Kim Min Jae will be forced to take a break due to an Achilles tendon injury. The South Korean defender will miss Bayern’s upcoming game against Union Berlin and is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.

Kompany expressed hope that the injury is not too severe but emphasized the need to manage Kim’s workload to prevent further complications.

“Kim Min Jae is carrying a bit of an injury, we hope it’s nothing bad, but he’ll be out for a couple of weeks. He’s got problems with his Achilles, which was known already”; Kompany said.

In Kim’s absence, Eric Dier is expected to retain his place at the heart of Bayern’s defense. Dier has started three Bundesliga games in a row for the German giants, and Kompany has praised the former Tottenham player’s professionalism and drive.

“Eric brings something fundamental to a team. He is very professional and always has the drive to improve himself and his teammates”; Kompany said.

Despite the injury setback, Kompany’s side will be confident of securing a positive result against Union Berlin.
