Black Maidens beat Togo in U-17 World Cup Qualifier

The Black Maidens secured a crucial 2-0 away victory over Togo in the first leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier, thanks to a brilliant brace from Priscilla Mensah.
Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwah named a strong starting XI, determined to secure an early advantage on the road. Captain Seidu Wahab led the line, with Mensah providing support in attack.

Ghana delivered a composed and dominant display at the Stade de Kégué, controlling possession and dictating the tempo throughout the game.

The breakthrough came in the 16th minute when Mensah calmly finished off a well-worked team move to give the Black Maidens the lead.
They continued to assert their dominance, limiting Togo’s attacking threat and heading into the break firmly in control.
After the restart, Ghana maintained their intensity and were rewarded again in the 64th minute, as Mensah grabbed her second of the game to seal an impressive 2–0 victory.
The result puts the Black Maidens in a strong position ahead of the return leg, scheduled for April 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

With a two-goal cushion and home support behind them, Ghana will be confident of completing the job and booking their place in the next round of qualifiers.
