The Black Satellites have been drawn in Group C alongside defending champions Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.
The team will begin their campaign on May 2 against DR Congo, followed by a match against Senegal on May 5, and conclude the group stage with a clash against the Central African Republic on May 8.
The U20 AFCON doubles as the qualifiers to the U20 World Cup, which is expected to take place in Chile in September.
A strong performance in the AFCON could see the Black Satellites qualify for the World Cup and bring the country back to the global stage. Ghana, the only African nation to win the U20 World Cup (in 2009), has not featured in the tournament since a Round of 16 exit in 2015.

The Black Satellites will fancy their chances of going deep in the tournament and potentially winning the AFCON after their heroics in the 2023 African Games, where the team annexed gold.
This achievement has undoubtedly boosted the team’s confidence and momentum, and they will look to build on this success in Egypt.
The 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations will feature 13 teams from across the continent, divided into three groups.
The tournament will run from April 27 to May 18, with the quarterfinals and semifinals set to be played in the lead-up to the final. The top two teams from each group, plus the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the quarterfinals.
The Black Satellites will depart for Egypt later today, where they will continue their preparations ahead of the tournament.
