Black Stars to begin training on Monday ahead of 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad

Ghana’s training sessions on Monday and Tuesday will be open to the public.

The Black Stars will convene in Accra on Monday, March 17 for a four-day training camp ahead of their clash against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21.

The team’s training sessions on Monday and Tuesday will be open to the public.

Following the match against Chad, the Black Stars will travel to Morocco to take on Madagascar in another Group I fixture on Monday, March 24.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team includes three home-based players: Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC, and Razak Simpson of Nations FC.

Deputy captain and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey returns to the squad after missing four Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last year.

Other notable inclusions are Kamaldeen Sulemana of Southampton and Jerry Afriyie of CD Lugo.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars have been hit with a major injury crisis, with 12 players currently sidelined.

The injured players include Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Abdul Mumin, Joseph Aidoo, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Baba Iddrisu, Ibrahim Sulemana, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Majeed Ashimeru, and Joseph Paintsil.
