Fabrizio also revealed that both Madrid and incoming manager Xabi Alonso view the young defender as a top talent for the future.

He also reports that Huijsen was a top target for incoming manager Xabi Alonso, as the club aims to revamp their backline. They are also keen to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer after the right-back confirms his Liverpool exit ahead of a free transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

Huijsen played for Malaga’s youth team between 2015 and 2021 and later moved to Juventus before making his professional debut.

The 20-year-old is now set to play in La Liga for the first time, wearing the white jersey of the 15-time Champions League winners, and could feature in the Club World Cup for Los Blancos in June.

The Netherlands-born defender moved to Bournemouth from Juventus last summer, for an initial £12.8m, so the Cherries are making an immense profit on the center-back.

The center-back has made 30 Premier League appearances this season, with the club safely in 10th place in the Premier League standings.

The player is now said to be undergoing a medical and is set to sign a five-year deal that will keep him at the club till 2030.

Bournemouth are preparing to face Manchester City and Leicester before the Premier League season comes to its climax, and Huijsen is expected to say goodbye to the fans against the Foxes, barring unforeseen circumstances in negotiations.
