Brazil have officially handed coach Dorival Junior his marching orders
BREAKING: Brazil sack head coach Dorival Junior

Dorival Junior has been given his marching orders by the Brazil Federation following a huge 4-1 defeat against Argentina.
The 62-year-old took charge of the team in January 2024, managing 16 matches.
Dorival Junior recorded seven victories, seven draws and two defeats. The Federation were reportedly in talks to sack him after a while.

But the recent 4-1 defeat against Argentina, who played without Lionel Messi, proved to be the final straw for Dorival Junior.

The five-time World Cup winners will now actively look for a new head coach with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti on top of the list.
Brazil have not won major silverware since the 2019 victory in the Copa America. They have also not won the World Cup since 2002.

Junior, who had managed several Brazilian clubs, was viewed as the savior for the trophy hungry nation.
Brazil is currently fourth in the CONMEBOL qualification group with 21 points.
If they mantain their position or improve, they will secure automatic qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
Brazil remain the only team to feature in all 22 World Cups since it started in 1930.
With a new lineup of stars, they will hope to turn things around under new management.
