"Caicedo is one of the best midfielders in the world now"- Maresca

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on Moises Caicedo as one of the best players in his position after the Blues edged London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Chelsea’s win over Spurs saw them leapfrog Manchester City to regain their place in the top four on the league standings, yet all of that would have been impossible without the efforts of Caicedo in midfield.

Speaking to the press after the game, Maresca had high marks for the amount of work Caicedo put in for his team at home against their rivals, revealing that Caicedo is one of the best in his position, if not the very best.

“Moi Caicedo is so humble, so kind.. and so good. He’s one of the best, if not the best defensive midfielder in the world right now”, he said.

“The best thing about Moi is that every day he’s working very seriously. He is an example to his teammates.”, Maresca added.

With just eight matches to go in the Premier League, Chelsea look like they could return to the UEFA Champions League next season, and Caicedo is sure to be crucial to make that dream a reality.
