Cristian Romero hints at possible Spurs exit in intriguing revelation

Cristian Romero has hinted on a possible move away from Tottenham Hotspur in the near future, confirming the rumours of a transfer to Atletico Madrid this summer.

Spurs have struggled domestically this term under Ange Postecoglou, and look far from their best level this season across many departments of the game.

On Monday night, Tottenham suffered another domestic defeat to Nottingham Forest and now sit only two places off relegation.

Asked about the team’s trajectory and poor form this year, Romero revealed that Spurs can still fight for silverware in the UEFA Europa League to salvage their season, but however hinted at a possible move away from England in the future.

“We are in the Europa League semi-finals, I want to finish the season on a high note, and after that, we will see. A league I would love to play in would be Spain to compete in all major leagues”, he told Los Edul.

Diego Simeone’s side are reportedly aiming to bring in Romero, and the deal could take place this summer in a reported 50 million Euros deal.
