Ayew has been without a club since leaving French side Le Havre at the end of the 2024–25 season but has kept fit by training with Nania FC, owned by his father and African football legend Abedi Pelé.
The Ghanaian international has earned over 120 caps for the Black Stars, scoring 24 goals. He enjoyed successful spells at Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United, and has made nearly 600 appearances across top competitions, including the Champions League, Ligue 1, Premier League, Championship, Turkish Super Lig, and Ligue 2, scoring more than 160 goals.
Speaking after completing his move, Ayew said:
“I enjoy challenges, both individually and as a team. That’s what I found at NAC. Staying in the Eredivisie is the only objective, and together with our supporters, we must fight for it.”
NAC Breda technical director Peter Maas praised Ayew’s mentality and experience, expressing confidence that the veteran forward will play a key role in the club’s survival battle.
Ayew joins head coach Carl Hoefkens’ squad immediately, with NAC set to resume training on January 2 at the BO Infra Training Complex in Zundert.
NAC Breda currently sit bottom of the Eredivisie standings with 13 points.
The experienced forward has targeted a return to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup
