The excitement is building as eight teams have qualified for the 2024/2025 Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional Tournament, scheduled to take place later this month.

Benab, Midcity, and Sasaamo Panin are the only teams that participated in last season’s promotional tournament and will be appearing again this year.

The competition is expected to be fierce, with each team looking to make their mark and secure a spot in the Division One league.

In Zone 1, Adom FC were held to a 2-2 draw against Natcosta, but still managed to finish on top of the zone with a seven-point gap against second-place Bafag Rainbow.

In Zone 2, Midcity ended the Zonal League on a high note with a 1-0 win over Step FC, and will be aiming to go for the ultimate prize this time around after losing to Galaxy FC in last year’s final.

Sasaamo Panin defied all odds to qualify ahead of Fast Track and Namoro Academy in Zone 3, while Acceler8z defeated Golden Stars to book their place in the promotional tournament in Zone 4.

In Zone 5, Ebony will be making their eighth middle league appearance after finishing the Zonal League unbeaten, and Pro Sports defied odds to win Zone 6 with just a point, finishing ahead of favorites Jachie United.

Benab will be making their fifth consecutive middle league appearance after winning Zone 7 with a whopping 50 points and finishing unbeaten.

The ‘EverythingbyGod’ side are regarded as the favourites to secure the Division One slot among the eight teams.

Jonnboe, who finished second in Zone 7, also qualified for the middle league for the first time in their history due to the number of teams in that zone.

The qualified clubs are: Adom, Midcity, Sasaamo Panin, Acceler8z, Ebony, Pro Sports, Benab, and Jonnboe.

The Ashanti Regional Football Association is expected to meet with the qualified clubs for balloting and set a date for the promotional tournament, which will take place at the Baba Yara stadium.
