GFA boss Kurt Okraku leads delegation to meet Sports Minister Kofi Adams

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, led a high-powered delegation consisting of Executive Council members and Regional Football Association (RFA) chairmen to pay a courtesy call on the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, on Monday.
During the visit, President Simeon-Okraku extended congratulations to Hon. Kofi Adams for his nomination and subsequent approval as Minister.
He introduced the members of the GFA Executive Council and RFA chairmen to the Minister and emphasized the need for ongoing support and collaboration between the Football Association and the Ministry.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the relationship between the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation for the collective benefit of football in Ghana.
President Simeon-Okraku, with the support of Vice-President Mark Addo, also took the opportunity to outline some of the key policies and developmental programs the GFA has implemented to improve the state of football in the country.
Furthermore, President Simeon-Okraku underscored the importance of a strong partnership between the GFA and the Ministry in addressing key issues and ensuring the continued growth of Ghanaian football.
“We are here this morning to congratulate you as a collective unit and also introduce members of the Executive Council and Regional FA chairmen,” President Simeon-Okraku told the Sports Minister in his opening remarks
“Together with my colleagues, we are also here to assure you of our unflinching support and loyalty as we embark on this journey. We can achieve so much for our people if we work together as a team.”
Sports Minister Kofi Adams welcomed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) delegation and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting football and sports development in the country.

He expressed his readiness to collaborate closely with the GFA to enhance football infrastructure and promote greater youth participation in sports.
The meeting also addressed plans for upcoming football projects and the government’s role in providing necessary resources and support.
Both GFA President, Kurt Simeon-Okraku, and Minister Kofi Adams urged for support for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad, scheduled for Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium, and against Madagascar on March 24, 2025.
This visit is part of the GFA’s efforts to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and foster the progress of Ghanaian football at all levels.
President Simeon-Okraku also presented a copy of the GFA and CAF statutes to the Minister at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
