Anthony is expected to leave Man Utd in the summer amid Real Betis interest
‘He might say I don’t want to come back’ – Teddy Sheringham on Anthony

Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham has advised the club to ditch recalling loanee Anthony from his loan at Real Betis despite his fine form since his winter move.
United have been told to omit the winger from the club’s plans, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe urged to speed up Ruben Amorim’s rebuild for next season.
The former United forward, in his view, thinks the winger “might say I don’t want to come back” due to his current form and quick adaptation to the Spanish league.

The Brazil international flopped at Old Trafford after his big-money move from Ajax in 2022 but has enjoyed an immediate resurgence after moving to Spain in January, scoring four goals and setting up 14 in 15 appearances.
His move to the twenty-time Premier League champions for a whopping £81.3m was only second behind Paul Pogba as United’s most expensive player at the time, and the fourth highest transfer fee paid by a Premier League club.

The former Ajax winger’s return to form has sparked suggestions he could still have a future at Old Trafford, but former Red Devils forward Teddy Sheringham has “urged the club to cut their losses with the player” should they receive a reasonable offer for him.

“It all depends on how the manager gets on with him, what sort of relationship he’s got with [Amorim],” he told casinoapps.com.
“I know he didn’t buy him, I know Ten Hag brought him in. You never know. Antony might have a nice relationship with Amorim.
“He might get on with him and they’ll have the conversation and he might say to him, I want you to come back.
“And he might say, I don’t want to come back.
“Why would I want to come back there and get all that stick when I’m enjoying myself in Spain?
“For me, just get enough money for him and sell. It’s not the be all and end all for all these players at the moment at Man United.
“It’s a fantastic club when it’s going well, but there’s a lot of stick to take as well if things aren’t going well and there’s a big rebuilding situation for the manager and the football club, for Jim Ratcliffe and whoever, so do you want to be part of that and still be there or do you want to just enjoy your football and be where you are?”
Betis’ sporting director Fajardo said recently that “they will do everything to keep Anthony at the club beyond this season,” while the club’s chief executive believes they have a good chance of working out a deal.
