"I told him I needed him"- Flick on Eric Garcia's stay at Barca

Hansi Flick has revealed that although Serie A side Como was interested in Eric Garcia, he decided to keep the player to contribute to his project this season.

This season, Barcelona have been running riot across all competitions, scoring over 140 goals while keeping 11 clean sheets in their last 20 games.

Those games have seen them unbeaten across Europe this year, with Eric heavily contributing as an impact sub for Flick.

The German tactician told the press that the stay of Eric Garcia at Barca was a deliberate one on his part, believing the 24-year-old has a lot to give his team this season and in the future.

“Eric Garcia had an offer from another club, but I told him I needed him and that’s why he is here with us. Eric is doing great. You can see that”, Flick said.

“He’s got some areas to improve. Everyone can improve and yeah we have the right to dream for whatever this season but we must work hard”, he added.
