Liverpool warned against swapping Mac Allister for Real Madrid’s Arda Guler

Mac Allister is linked with a swap deal involving Arda Guler to Real Madrid

Liverpool have been warned off dealing with Real Madrid as speculations over a swap deal with Alexis Mac Allister and Arda Guler resurface.

The Reds have been put on alert not to deal with “annoying” Real Madrid after a swap between the two players was rumoured.

Reports in Spain claimed that the move was possible this week, with Real Madrid eyeing up Mac Allister as their long-term replacement for Luka Modric. But former Red winger Jermaine Pennant has advised that it is a deal the club must stay away from.

Pennant told Makthavare: “Real Madrid keep trying to pinch Liverpool’s players, they’re annoying! I hope they don’t take Alexis MacAllister this summer, although you can imagine he’d settle in there well with the language and culture, it’d make him feel a bit closer to home.

“He’s such an important player for Liverpool and he’s quite often the unsung hero, he makes the team tick.

“He’s not like Xabi Alonso who sprays 60-yard passes around the pitch, but he’s very clever with his smaller passes and has an eye for goal himself.

“I hope that this transfer doesn’t materialise. Arda Guler has been mentioned in a swap deal, and I think he’s a great player and would be a good addition, but for me, he wouldn’t fill that gap.”

Los Blancos are still in the market for a replacement for the departed German midfield maestro Toni Kroos, and replacing the 39-year-old Luka Modric with speculations of the Croatians departure in the summer.

Turkish wonderkid Guler, however, is experiencing limited playing time at Real Madrid, and this has led to speculation about his future at the club, including reports of discontent among board members and possible player dissatisfaction.

While Guler remains determined to earn his place, his lack of playing time raises concerns about his development and potential departure, leading to a potential summer exit for the 20-year-old.

Liverpool face Leicester City away in the Premier League on Sunday, and the Argentine is expected to play a part in the encounter that could secure a 20th League title if Arsenal lose at Ipswich earlier in the day.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, take on Athletic Club in La Liga on Sunday as they aim to cut the four-point gap to Barcelona.
