Man City hold the advantage of signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz
Man City ‘favourites’ to sign Bayer Leverkusen star this summer

Manchester City are reportedly favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz ahead of rivals Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Man City hold ‘crucial advantage’ in pursuit to sign Florian Wirtz as Pep Guardiola’s side confident of beating fellow contenders for German’s signature.
According to reports from Give Me Sport, City are ahead of their peers in their pursuit of Leverkusen midfielder this summer.

The Blues have identified the Germany star as a direct replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who is all set to leave the club this summer as a free agent after ten successful years of service at the Etihad.
The 21-year-old has been a subject of intense interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, but the report adds that Leverkusen could be unwilling to sell their star player to a direct rival and help them strengthen their squad.

The news comes in as an advantage for City, as they remain hopeful of winning the race for the player’s signature.
The current German champions are expected to demand a fee in the region of £100m should they eventually decide to cash in on their star man.

Madrid and Liverpool also remain optimistic about signing Wirtz in the summer, with Xabi Alonso linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu next season.
The Los Blancos would wish that the Spanish would be able to convince the midfielder to follow him to the Spanish capital.
As we speak, Wirtz remains sidelined for several weeks after he suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle during Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen last month.
