Vitor Pereira completes move to Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Vitor Pereira as new head coach, following the sacking of Sean Dyche on Thursday, midnight, after a 0-0 draw at home against struggling Wolves in the Premier League.

Pereira will become the fourth manager at the helm at the City Ground, following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, and Sean Dyche.

Pereira, 57, is believed to have signed an 18-month deal with the Tricky Trees, who are battling relegation, with the club just three points above the drop zone following Wednesday’s draw with his former side Wolves.

Forest unleashed an astonishing 35 shots in their latest match — a clear sign of their attacking intent; however, with just 10 shots on target.

They’ve now picked up points in five of their last six league games, but they’ve only won two of their past ten Premier League outings.

Pereira faces a tough challenge ahead; he must revive the fortunes of a once-dominant side, deliver the kind of entertaining football the fans crave, and stay in the good graces of the famously no-nonsense owner, Evangelos Marinakis.

Pereira’s first game as Forest boss will come against former side Fenerbahce in the Europa League playoffs next week.

Vitor Pereira will become Nottingham Forest’s fourth manager of the season

There are high expectations for the new Forest head coach to repeat his Wolves achievement from the 2024/25 season. He took over the Molineux hotseat in December 2024 with Wolves battling in the relegation zone, five points off safety.

He managed to guide the Wolves to safety as they ended the campaign way above the bottom three. However, Wolves started the current season poorly, and Pereira was relieved of his duties in November.

The Portuguese manager is now entrusted with the task of helping Forest to start winning games in the Premier League to avoid relegation.
