Sahel FC sign five Ghanaian players ahead of new season

Nigerian giants Sahel SC have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of five Ghanaian players as they prepare for the 2025/26 Super League campaign.
The Yellow and Green unveiled their new signings on Monday, September 15, 2025, during a ceremony that also confirmed the return of former player and coach Maurice Gueye as head coach.

Among the new arrivals is Suraj Musah, who previously featured for Vision FC and the West African Football Academy (WAFA). Former King Faisal winger Emmanuel Nketia has also penned a deal with the club.
Midfielder Kamal Akrugu, from Accra-based Beskitas Academy, joins after successful negotiations, while promising forward Fawzan Mohamed Yusif makes the switch from Bekwai Heroes FC.
Completing the list is Stephen Diyou, who arrives from the now defunct Nsoatreman FC after impressing in the Ghana Premier League.

The signings reflect Sahel’s ambition to build a more competitive and ambitious team, as they look to improve on last season’s mid table finish.
With Gueye back in charge and five fresh Ghanaian faces in the squad, optimism is high among the club’s faithful.
The new recruits have already begun training with their teammates as preparations intensify ahead of the new campaign.
