Verbal agreement ‘almost reached’ between Bayern and Leverkusen star

Reports from Germany have revealed that Bayern Munich have “almost reached” a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz regarding personal terms over a summer move.

However, Bayern has not finalized any paperwork for the player’s signature between the two clubs.

According to Journalist Santi Aouna’s report, the Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso’s imminent departure may have triggered the midfielders’ protracted move away from the North Rhine-Westphalia.

Bayern look desperate to seal a deal for arguably one of the best young prospects in Germany, and reports suggest that representatives of both Wirtz and Bayern are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms.

Despite the Bavarians leading the race to sign the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, English giants Manchester City have reportedly shown interest.

Pep Guardiola’s idea is to replace the German international with the departing Kevin De Bruyne in the summer.

The same reports have been confirmed by Bayern outlet on its social media handle on X(Twitter) sparking intense rumours of the player’s switch to the Bundesliga leaders.

Despite City’s interest, alongside Real Madrid exploring their options, Vincent Kompany’s side has not given up hope.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern can reach an agreement with Leverkusen, with Die Werkself varying their ambitions of extending his contract.

Wirtz has been immense in Leverkusen’s project since Alonso’s arrival. However, injuries have curtailed what is to be a remarkable season for the midfielder, racking up just 9 goals and 10 assists in the current campaign.
