Virgil van Dijk is drawing interest from several clubs as his Liverpool contract approaches its expiration in June
Virgil van Dijk open to re-signing for Liverpool as free agent if new deal isn’t agreed

Virgil van Dijk has disclosed that he would be open to re-signing for Liverpool as a free agent if a new contract isn’t agreed before the end of the season.
The Reds’ captain insists he is “in one of the best shapes” of his career at 33, which he believes justifies a potential contract extension.
Like Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk’s current contract expires at the end of the campaign.
While negotiations with his representatives, ROOF, are ongoing, the Netherlands captain acknowledges that it is a prolonged process that may extend beyond the conclusion of the season, which wraps up with a home fixture against Crystal Palace on May 25.
The 33-year-old remains uncertain about the outcome of the talks but reiterated his love for the club and his belief that he can continue performing at a high level for years to come.
However, he stopped short of dismissing reported interest from the Saudi Pro League, leaving the door open for potential offers.
“Listen, [possibly waiting until the season is over] is definitely the case, so we will see what happens,” Van Dijk said.
“Maybe I will run this [contract] fully down and then there is still no news, I don’t know.
“So let’s see what it brings and I am sure by the end of the season there will be news. But what kind of news I am not sure.”
