Virgil van Dijk’s contract expires at the end of the current season
Virgil van Dijk uncertain about Liverpool future amid contract talks

Virgil van Dijk has admitted he is unsure whether he will remain at Liverpool beyond this season, insisting that anyone claiming otherwise is lying.
The Reds captain confirmed that discussions between his representatives and the club are ongoing, with his current contract set to expire on June 30.
When asked if he expects to stay at Anfield next season, Van Dijk said he genuinely does not know what will happen.
“|’ve no idea,” the Netherlands defender said.
“I still have no idea at the moment. Genuinely, I have no idea at the moment. Talks aren’t on hold, nothing’s on hold. I keep saying the same thing. Listen, there are 10 games to go and that’s my full focus.
“At the moment I don’t even know what will happen next year. If anyone says they do know, they’re lying to your face.”
Liverpool Locked in Talks with Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool are also engaged in contract negotiations with key players Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, both of whom are set to become free agents in the summer.

Salah is reportedly seeking a longer-term deal with improved wages, which Liverpool have yet to meet, while Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants even had a £20million bid for the England star rejected in January.
Amid the uncertainty, speculation has emerged that Van Dijk has secretly agreed to extend his stay at Liverpool but is keeping it under wraps out of respect for Salah and Alexander-Arnold’s ongoing negotiations.
However, the 33-year-old defender has dismissed such claims, stating that his focus remains on securing silverware this season.
Van Dijk is determined to lead Liverpool to Carabao Cup glory and guide the team to the Premier League title in their remaining 10 games.
