Bayer Leverkusen produced a stunning late comeback to defeat Stuttgart 4-3 in a thrilling Bundesliga encounter on Sunday. Trailing 3-1 with just minutes to go, Leverkusen scored three goals in the final stages to snatch a dramatic victory and snap a three-game losing run across all competitions.
The match seemed to be slipping away from Leverkusen when Stuttgart took a 3-1 lead in the 61st minute, thanks to an own goal from Granit Xhaka. However, the visitors refused to give up, and Jeremie Frimpong pulled one back in the 65th minute to give Leverkusen hope. Piero Hincapie then rifled home a stunning goal in the 73rd minute to set up a thrilling finale.

In the 88th minute, Angelo Stiller’s own goal leveled the contest, and Leverkusen sensed their chance. In the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, Patrik Schick sealed the win with a brilliant header, glancing Frimpong’s teasing delivery home to send the Leverkusen bench into raptures.
The comeback was Leverkusen’s 12th from a losing position in the Bundesliga this season, more than any other team. The win also kept their impressive away form going, with Leverkusen now unbeaten in each of their last 30 Bundesliga away games. The result sees Xabi Alonso’s side close the gap at the Bundesliga summit to six points, following Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on Saturday.
