The reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid got off on Sunday afternoon with an important 1-0 away win against Alaves at the Mendizorroza Stadium to keep their title hopes alive.
Real Madrid’s important win was, however, riddled with a horrible tackle from Kylian Mbappe in the 38th minute, resulting in the red card after further checks by VAR.
According to Jonas Perez, if the disciplinary committee rules it as “rough and serious play,” a two-match suspension appears most likely, keeping him out against Athletic Club and Getafe.

However, a three-game ban would also sideline him for the clash against Celta Vigo, and a four-match ban would extend to include the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
Eduardo Camavinga put the visitors ahead in the 34th minute with a subline left-footed curler just outside the penalty area to put Carlo Ancelotti’s side ahead.
The win keeps Los Blancos at the second position, four points from touching distance to League leaders Barcelona, who are on an unbeaten run of 25 games across the La Liga campaign this time.
However, it was Kylian Mbappe’s horrific tackle on Alaves’ midfielder, Antonio Blanco, that grabbed the headlines.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Carlo Ancelotti defended his top scorer, saying, Mbappe isn’t a violent kid.

He said after the game: “I haven’t spoken to him since.
“Kylian isn’t a violent kid, he’s a kid who has apologized and is aware of what he’s done.
“It was a clear red card and he’s paid the consequences. The many small fouls committed against him have made him react this way, which isn’t right.
“I’m not justifying it, but that’s what happened.”
Madrid’s win duly ended a run of three winless matches in all competitions and kept the La Liga title race alive.
