Mbappe was sent off after a reckless studs-up challenge on Alavés’ Antonio Blanco
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe expected to avoid lengthy ban

Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to avoid a lengthy suspension following his controversial red card in Los Blancos’ 1-0 victory over Deportivo Alavés on Sunday.
The match, which was a scrappy affair, saw both teams reduced to 10 men, with Mbappe the first player to be sent off.
The French forward received his marching orders after a reckless studs-up challenge on Alavés midfielder Antonio Blanco.

Mbappe’s tackle caught Blanco’s shin while the ball was nowhere near his outstretched leg.
Initially, there were concerns that Mbappe could face a lengthy ban of around five matches, as the challenge appeared to be a serious foul.

However, Spanish outlet COPE has reported that Mbappe is likely to face a one-match suspension instead.
Referee César Soto Grado noted in his report that Mbappé was attempting to challenge for the ball when the incident occurred, which could reduce the severity of the ban.

Had the tackle been deemed a serious offense, Mbappe could have faced a longer suspension, potentially missing Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on April 26.
According to Spanish football regulations, suspensions in La Liga also apply to all domestic competitions.
Should the ban be limited to just one match, Mbappé will miss Real Madrid’s La Liga clash with Athletic Club on Sunday, April 20.
However, he would be available for the subsequent games, including the match against Getafe and the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
