Man United’s woes in the Premier League deepened as they were thrashed 4-1 by Newcastle
‘It’s over’ – Ruben Amorim provides worrying injury update on Man United star

Ruben Amorim has provided a worrying update on Joshua Zirkzee’s fitness after the striker suffered a hamstring injury during Manchester United’s heavy defeat to Newcastle United.
United’s woes in the Premier League deepened on Sunday as they were thrashed 4-1 by the Magpies at St. James’ Park.
Harvey Barnes netted a brace, while Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães also got on the scoresheet to secure a resounding victory for Eddie Howe’s side, who moved up to fourth in the table.

To make matters worse for United, star forward Zirkzee was forced off in the 55th minute after appearing to pull up with a hamstring issue.
He was visibly in discomfort, clutching the back of his leg before limping off the pitch.

Following the match, Amorim admitted the early signs weren’t promising, stating that the Dutchman could face a spell on the sidelines if scans confirm a significant muscle strain.
“Zirkzee vs. Lyon? I think it’s over,” Ruben Amorim said.
He added:”We had to make rotation because we are trying to recover in two days from each game. But trying to win this game also.
“Josh, I think he will be out for some games. So, let’s focus on the next one [against Lyon].”

Joshua Zirkzee’s injury comes as a significant setback, with the 23-year-old among the standout performers during Sunday’s clash before being forced off the pitch.
He had also netted the equaliser in the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw against Lyon in the first leg of their Europa League qualifier earlier in the week.
With teenager Chido Obi ineligible for European competition, Rasmus Højlund may be the only available striker in the squad for Thursday’s crucial second-leg showdown.
