Real Madrid confirm serious injury blow for Eduardo Camavinga

Camavinga has suffered a complete tear of his left adductor tendon

Real Madrid have confirmed that midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a serious injury during last night’s victory over Getafe.

Although Camavinga wasn’t in the starting XI, he came on as a substitute at halftime, replacing David Alaba, who had felt some discomfort.

A late clash with an opposing player led to the injury, which prompted manager Carlo Ancelotti to remove him from the game, leaving Real Madrid with only ten men for the final moments of the match.

It has now been confirmed that Camavinga has suffered a complete tear of his left adductor tendon.

While the club’s official update did not provide a specific recovery timeline, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the French midfielder’s season is effectively over.

Camavinga is not expected to return before the end of the current campaign and will also miss the FIFA Club World Cup this summer. His recovery will see him return to action in the 2025/26 season.

“After the tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the left adductor tendon. Awaiting evolution,” the statement from the club read.

Ancelotti earlier confirmed that David Alaba and Camavinga will miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona due to injury.

Camavinga is not expected to return before the end of the current campaign

“Camavinga needs to be seen [on Thursday], but both he and Alaba’s are muscle problems, and it’s difficult for them to be there for Saturday,” he said.

“I’m not upset because the objective was to get the three points… It’s true that we looked for more solidity at the back and we need more effectiveness up front.

“Yes, Fran García is the only alternative at left back for Saturday.”
