Delap has been added to the Gunners’ shortlist of striker targets
Arsenal make offer to sign Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap

Arsenal have approached Liam Delap’s representatives with an offer as they look to sign a supporting striker to complement a more experienced option, according to FootballTransfers.
Delap has been added to the Gunners’ shortlist of striker targets following a shift in their transfer strategy, spearheaded by Andrea Berta.
The Italian’s influence has convinced Mikel Arteta to focus on acquiring elite players who can make an immediate impact and deliver silverware in the short term.

As a result, Arsenal have moved away from pursuing Benjamin Sesko, whose release clause has now surpassed the €80million mark.
Berta is now prioritising a deal for Viktor Gyokeres, while also seeking a younger, more affordable supporting striker to partner with him.
Berta has been impressed with Delap’s performances in the Premier League this season and sees the Ipswich Town forward as an ideal understudy to Gyokeres.
The Gunners have formalised their interest in Delap, making an offer to the 22-year-old’s representatives and outlining how they plan to integrate him into the squad.

Arsenal have informed Delap that they are willing to meet his financial demands.
However, they have made it clear that he would need to fight for a place in the starting lineup, likely beginning as second choice unless Gyokeres – or another experienced striker – is signed.

Arsenal and Gyokeres share a mutual vision for the future, but more transfer meetings are required to finalise the deal, with discussions still needed to reach an agreement with Sporting.
As it stands, Gyokeres’ signing is not yet confirmed.
Arsenal are not concerned about meeting Profitability and Sustainability Rules and are prepared to pay Sporting’s asking price for Gyokeres, as well as Delap’s €35million release clause.
Delap, meanwhile, is biding his time, closely monitoring how the Premier League race for European spots unfolds.
Aware of his high demand, he is not rushing into a decision regarding his next move.
