Black Starlets land in Côte d’Ivoire for WAFU B U-17 AFCON qualifiers

The Black Starlets have landed in Côte d’Ivoire ahead of the 2025 WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ghana will kick off its campaign on Saturday, September 20, against Togo at 6:00 p.m., before facing host nation Ivory Coast on Tuesday, September 23, also at 6:00 p.m.

The Starlets will then wrap up their group stage commitments with a crucial clash against Niger on Friday, September 26, at 3:00 p.m.
The tournament, staged at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, serves as the official qualifying competition for the 2025 U-17 AFCON, with the best sides booking tickets to the continental showpiece.

The Starlets, two-time FIFA U-17 World Cup champions are determined to reclaim their dominance in youth football.
Coach Prosper Ogum expressed confidence in his side’s readiness:
“We have had a very productive camp, and the players have shown great commitment. We are going to Côte d’Ivoire determined to compete and make Ghanaians proud.”
The technical team has stressed discipline, teamwork, and resilience as the pillars for success, with the squad set to continue fine-tuning preparations in Yamoussoukro before the tournament kicks off.
