Hearts of Oak clinch vital away victory over Dreams FC

The Phobians are back to winning ways after a frustrating draw in their opening game.

Hearts of Oak picked up their first win of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 victory over Dreams FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown on Monday.

A 14th-minute strike from Mohammed Hussein proved decisive as the Phobians secured all three points.

Hussein reacted quickest inside the penalty area and calmly slotted past goalkeeper Gidios Aseako to give Hearts an early lead after a bright start.

Dreams FC gradually grew into the game, enjoying long spells of possession and pushing for an equalizer, but Hearts’ defence remained well organized and resilient.

The victory comes as a timely response for Hearts following their disappointing goalless draw with newly promoted Hohoe United last weekend.

The defeat ended Dreams’ six-match unbeaten run against Hearts and also marked their first home loss since December 2024, when they fell to Asante Kotoko.

With the win, Hearts move to four points from their opening two matches, while Dreams remain without a point after back-to-back defeats.

Next up, Hearts travel to Samreboi to face Basake Holy Stars, while Dreams visit Dormaa to take on Young Apostles.
