Ghana will make their fifth appearance in the World Cup in 2026.
GFA to hold Thanksgiving after Black Stars’ World Cup qualification

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) led by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, will hold a special two-day interfaith thanksgiving service to celebrate the Black Stars’ qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The event will bring together football stakeholders, religious leaders, and fans to thank God for Ghana’s fifth appearance on the global stage and second consecutive qualification after the 2022 edition in Qatar.
The thanksgiving comes after the Black Stars, who failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, made amends by securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ghana finished top of Group I with 25 points, six points ahead of Madagascar.
