A statement on the club’s official Facebook page read:
“Damascus Al-Ahly FC announces its contract with Ghanaian striker Antwi Richmond for the upcoming football season.”
Antwi began his professional journey in Sudan, where he made headlines during the 2018/19 season, finishing as the top scorer in the Sudan Premier League with 19 goals for Al Khartoum Watani.
His impressive form earned him a move to Al-Merrikh SC, where he netted seven goals in 13 matches, helping the club win the 2019/20 Sudan Premier League title before mutually parting ways at the end of the campaign.
In Ghana, Antwi featured for Legon Cities FC in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, contributing four goals and three assists, playing a vital role in helping the Royals maintain their top-flight status.
He later joined Phoenix Rising FC in the USL Championship (USA) in 2022, where he scored four goals in 22 appearances.
After a few years out of the spotlight, Antwi will be hoping to revive his career and rediscover his best form with Al-Ahli Damascus in the upcoming Syrian Premier League season.
