Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone says he’s confident in his team to turn around their one goal deficit and ultimately qualify when they host Real Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League last 16.
Atletico showed immense desire in the first-leg against Real but found themselves struggling to cope with the attacking firepower of Los Blancos as Rodrigo and Brahim Diaz netted twice to go beyond Julian Alvarez’s stunner.
This time however, Simeone believes his team has everything it takes to grab a victory on the night, stating that his confidence is up the roof for the intriguing clash.
“I believe in my players and I have confidence in them. Tomorrow Griezmann will have a great game.”
The clash between the two city rivals is the fifth time two clubs from the same country have served each other out as opponents in the Champions League, and the men in white and red will be full of belief as they aim to book a place in the quarter finals at the expense of the current holders and record winners.
