Crystal Palace have fended off interest from European heavyweights as Daniel Munoz has reportedly agreed to a new contract at Selhurst Park.

The 27-year-old Colombian right-back, who joined the Eagles in January 2024, was originally under contract until 2027 with an option for an additional year.

However, his new deal reflects his growing influence under manager Oliver Glasner.

According to The Athletic, Munoz has signed improved terms as a reward for his consistent and impressive displays this season.

His high-energy performances down the right flank have become a key feature of Palace’s attacking play, and he has firmly established himself as a crucial figure in Glasner’s setup.

Muñoz has scored six goals in the current campaign, including a memorable winner against Brighton & Hove Albion, further underlining his value to the team.

His form has not gone unnoticed. Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea, as well as La Liga titans Barcelona, were all reportedly tracking the Colombian international.

Pep Guardiola was believed to view him as a potential long-term successor to Kyle Walker, who joined AC Milan on loan in January.

Despite the lure of Champions League football and interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs, Muñoz has chosen to commit his future to Crystal Palace. The decision highlights both his satisfaction with life in South London and his belief in the club’s direction under Glasner.

Muñoz is set to return to action this Saturday as Palace travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League’s early kick-off.
