Isco claims Real Betis need ‘crowdfunding’ to sign Antony

Real Betis may face a significant financial challenge in their pursuit of Manchester United loanee Antony, with Isco joking that the club may need to “crowdfund” to keep the Brazilian.

Now, Betis are hoping to retain Antony’s services beyond the end of his initial loan spell.

Isco told DAZN after Real Betis’ 2-1 victory over Sevilla: “We need to crowdfund to see if we can bring him back for another year.

“He’s surprised us all with his humility and his desire to help.”

Antony returned the compliment, speaking highly of a teammate who has experienced his own renaissance since parting ways with Real Madrid.

Antony has scored four goals and registered four assists in 12 appearances across all competitions for Real Betis

The former Ajax forward said: “Playing with Isco, he’s a genius. When you understand how things are done, things come easier. He’s an incredible player and person.”

Antony is enjoying his time at Betis and reflected on rekindling the spark that had begun to fade during his spell in England.

The 25-year-old added: “I feel happier and more content when I found myself, and I found myself here.

“I’m very grateful for everyone’s affection, for the players… I’m very happy here, my focus is on Betis, I’m enjoying the city, the club, and everything every day, and I’m very happy.”
