Liverpool confirm confirm Bradley Barcola signing from PSG

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of forward Bradley Barcola from French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain for a fee worth £106 million plus £17 million in add-ons on Monday, after passing his medical at the AXA Training Centre.

The French international, who has been a long-term target for the Reds, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal until 2031 at Anfield, in a deal that could potentially take the final fee to £123m.

The explosive forward will become Liverpool’s second most-expensive signing in the club’s history, following Alexander Isak’s £125m move from Newcastle United last summer.

Liverpool, who have been looking to strengthen their squad in wide areas this summer, especially after the departure of club legend Mohammed Salah, had been tracking Barcola, who is regarded as one of the most outstanding wide-attacking talents in world football, now.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside club have already revamped with the signing of Victor Munoz from La Liga side Osasuna for a fee in the region of £34.5m this summer, as they continue their search for creativity out wide, while prioritizing pace and penetrations as well.

The winger has now become Iraola’s third major signing of the summer after Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo, with Jeremy Jacquet also arriving having been signed in January.

The exciting winger will wear the No. 29 shirt for the Premier League club under new manager Andoni Iraola.

Barcola will continue with the same number he used at PSG and will become the eighth different player to wear it for LFC in the Premier League era.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com following the signing of his contract, the 23-year-old spoke about how excited he is for signing his contract after the long saga surrounding his move, and the pride of playing for Liverpool.

“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,”

“It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it.”

During his time with PSG, Barcola made 152 appearances across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists.
