Antoine Griezmann has written his name in La Liga history by edging former Barcelona skipper Lionel Messi as the non-Spanish player with the most appearances made (521).
Griezmann joined La Liga back in 2009 with Real Sociedad, but moved to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2014 before spending two full seasons at Barca between 2019/20 campaign and the 2021/2022 term.

Now, he is the non-Spanish player with the most appearances in La Liga, edging Argentine legend Messi, who spent close to two decades in La Liga.
Griezmann attained the record in Atletico Madrid’s clash with Espanyol on matchday 29 of the 2024/25 season where he was lauded by his teammates and La Liga officials for the incredible feat attained.
In 521 appearances, the Frenchman has netted 193 times while assisting on 94 occasions in the period as he is considered one of the greats of the game, surely to extend the record as long as he stays in La Liga.
