GPL: Aduana Stars stun Hearts of Oak in Dormaa

The fire boys have now gone eight games without defeat against the Phobians

Aduana Stars secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in an outstanding Matchday 22 encounter of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

A strike in each halves from Sam Adams and Latif Bamba handed the Ogya boys a massive victory at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park.

The match saw Aduana Stars come out strong, with Sam Adams scoring a powerful left-footed strike in the penalty area that beat Hearts’ goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

The goal gave Aduana Stars the momentum they needed to dominate the game. Aduana Stars’ players worked tirelessly, creating scoring opportunities and putting pressure on Hearts’ defense.

Despite Hearts’ best efforts, Aduana Stars’ energy and determination proved too much for the Phobians.

The host doubled their lead in the 88th minute, courtesy of a free header from former ASEC striker Abdel Latif Bamba. The goal sealed the win for Aduana Stars ensuring they return to winning ways.

The defeat marked a significant setback for Hearts of Oak, who have struggled to find form in recent games.

They have won just one of their last seven league matches, and the loss dropped them down to 7th place on the league table with 41 points from 27 matches.

Meanwhile Aduana Stars has moved to 11th on the standings with 35 points from 27 games

They have also extended their unbeaten run against Hearts of Oak to eight games in all competitions.

Hearts of Oak will aim to regroup and regain their form when they welcome Karela United to the Accra Sports Stadium this Sunday.

Meanwhile, Aduana Stars are set to automatically claim three points against Nsoatreman, who have withdrawn from the league.
