English giants Arsenal consider the highly-anticipated summer transfer of Martin Zubimendi a done deal after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the player weeks ago.

This term, the Gunners failed to clinch the long-awaited Premier League title crown, yet find themselves in the UEFA Champions League as one of the favorites as they come up against Paris Saint- Germain next week.

That tie is expected to be an absolute cracker by the football world, but the Red and Whites have already set their sights on strengthening their squad next season with one of Spain’s most technically-gifted players.

Should Arsenal confirm the signing of Zubimendi, he would be the third midfielder the Gunners have signed from Real Sociedad in the last three years after the transfers of Mikel Merino last summer and Martin Odegaard two seasons ago.

In recent months, it’s consistently been reported that they are leading the race to sign Real Sociedad standout Martin Zubimendi after he rejected a move to Liverpool last summer.

David Ornstein says Arsenal believe Zubimendi to the Emirates is a “done deal”, while also providing updates on Partey and Jorginho.

“His [Partey’s] return to prominence for Mikel Arteta’s team has made Arteta and the club be very keen on him remaining here at the Emirates Stadium,” Ornstein said to NBC Sports.

For now, Mikel Arteta’s side will be aiming to get themselves into the Champions League final, and possibly grabbing the title would be so huge to attracting players to North London next summer.
